Rent a classic Volvo PV 544 'Katterug'

The Volvo PV 444 was launched in 1947 and was inspired by American models from the forties. The car had a so-called pontoon body; a streamlined design with a rounded back. It is not surprising that the car was called the 'Kattenrug' here in the Netherlands. It was the first Volvo with a self-supporting body.
It was an important model from this Swedish manufacturer, which also sold well in the USA.

In 1958, the PV 544 succeeded the original model. It was an improved version, with, among other things, larger windows, a different grille, a heavier engine and more safety features. Safety was and is one of the most important features of a Volvo. However, the original shape did not change. The car was known for its legendary longevity and reliability. Mileage of 500,000 or more was not uncommon. The car was also successfully used in rally cars.

The Volvo PV 544 was produced until 1965, alongside the more modern Amazon, which was produced from 1957. A total of almost 400,000 of the PV 444 and the PV 544 were produced. There was also an estate version, the PV 445, with 41,790 units.
Driving this car is an experience in itself. Although the original design dates back to the late forties of the last century, this car can still keep up very well in today's traffic.
